Wild bear enters villager's house in central India, rescued

A wild bear was captured and rescued after it entered a villager's life in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

This incident happened in Basan village of Katni district on June 21.

Visuals showed the bear being captured by the forest department. The wild animal was captured in a steel cage and put on the back of a vehicle amidst a huge crowd. The bear was then let out in the wild.

According to a report, a team led by the Forest inspector Bahoriband and Reethi forest inspector reached the spot and a rescue team was called after they took stock of the situation. The male bear, 10 years of age, reportedly entered the house in search of water and entered the straw house of the villager.

After a lot of effort, the bear was tranquilised and captured. The Bakal police station staff cooperated with the officials in controlling the massive crowd which had gathered at the spot. The successful rescue operation was conducted under the guidance of Sub-Divisional Officer and Forest Divisional Officer.
