STORYLINE:

A group of Jordanian students learned about the culture and traditions of China's Dragon Boat Festival on Tuesday during a celebration of the festival held by the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh (TAG) Confucius Institute.

The students also participated in activities including making Zongzi, a traditional Chinese delicacy enjoyed during the holiday, and weaving Chinese knots.

"The TAG Confucius Institute holds dozens of language and cultural exchange activities every year, including traditional Chinese festival celebrations. The Dragon Boat Festival celebration is held today, and the Confucius Institute has prepared various activities, such as cultural lectures, colorful bracelets and Chinese knot weaving, and Zongzi making. These activities bring Chinese traditions closer to students and local people here."

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. This year's Dragon Boat Festival falls on Thursday.
