Photographer Captures Spectacular Time Lapse Of Beautiful Irish Thunderstorms During Major Storm Outbreak!

This time lapse takes a big place in my heart. It was captured using a full frame DSLR camera with super wide angle 15mm lens. I took over 2000 43mp images to create this time lapse movie of the most amazing thunderstorm I've ever seen in N. Ireland in my life. This was the June 19th Ballymoney-Ballycastle storm which produced lightning every 6 sec's for a very long time and flooded roads, residents said they had never seen a storm like it in their lives.

From my position 15-20 miles away I had the perfect view of the storm lit up in bright evening sunshine. The bubbling updraughts and explosive convection were a sight to behold. In more than 20 years of chasing storms in N. Ireland this was the most beautiful I have ever seen. The caliber of storm clouds was not unlike the USA. These tops reached 33,000ft high and temps of -57 degrees C. It was the finale in 8 days in a row of major storms in the country. The storm at the end was taken several days before over the west coast of Ireland over Donegal to show the range of storm clouds we have been getting. Rendered at 1080p 24 frames/sec.
