"I'm very interested in being the "Looking China in Fujian" because I would like to discover the Tulou culture. So this is my topic and I will make a movie about Hakka culture and the earth buildings here in Fujian. So I wish to discover the secrets about that and this architecture is marvelous. And I am really willing to be friends with my Chinese partner and getting to know more about the Chinese language and Chinese culture."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): MARINA GARCIA ANDREU, Filmmaker from Spain
"I think it is a great opportunity to know a new country, a new culture. I'm going to film jasmine tea, the workers and all of the process, the pick-up of flowers, and the next steps. It is a very interesting process. For me, it is very special, the details, the atmosphere."

SOUNDBITE 3 (English): CRAIG MCTURK, American supervisor
"This is my first time to come to Fujian Province in China. I am looking forward to not only travelling, getting to see some of the culture firsthand, but I am looking to learn more as I see the students' films. When I see their films, I will be asking questions of them. I will try to help them to bring the culture close to me and to the viewer."
