Our Alaskan Malamute Dotty is blowing her winter fur coat very much like a seeded dandelion wand in the wind

Lately our 3 Alaskan Malamutes Sojou, Fish and Dotty have been spending a lot of time inside in air conditioned settings. They were designed to live in extreme cold and have a double coat. Spending most of their time in the cool and then going out into the intense summer heat outdoors has quite dramatically triggered their seasonal blowing of their winter coat. This is the time of year to groom them as much as possible outdoors. Washing them or wetting them keeps it under control when brushing and speeds up the removal of most of their fur leaving just a short fluffy summer coat. We never shave our dogs as nature naturally regulates them.
