Derbyshire police have launched a murder investigation after a man's body was discovered by a group of 15 year olds at around 19:20 on the 23rd June 2023. Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene near to the Navigation pub in Breaston Derbyshire after the boys raised the alarm after finding the body along a path near to the Golden Brook.

Two men aged 21 and 24 have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently being questioned in police custody.

Police are asking anyone with dash cam or cctv to get in touch.

Residents near to where the incident happened have been left in shock with one saying "this sort of thing just doesn't happen around here". One person was so surprised she thought it was a joke.

The teenagers who found the man's body have been praised locally for handling the incident so maturely with outpouring of support going out to them on social media.
