A drunk British tourist has been arrested over a naked hotel rampage in the notorious Thai 'Sin City' of Pattaya.

Kailund Taylor McCluskey, 26, was allegedly heard by shocked guests throwing furniture around his room on the sixth floor of the building in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He is said to have been seen naked in the corridor before spraying a fire extinguisher over his bed.

Terrified staff at the Centara Nova Hotel & Spa cowered in the reception while they waited for police to arrive at the building.

Officers bashed open the door to find Kailund, from Coventry, West Midlands, naked in his ransacked room, with cash and broken glass, plates and cups scattered across the floor.

The Brit was ordered to cover up with a pair of pants before being frogmarched in handcuffs into a police truck and taken to the police station.

Police Captain Kittisuk Suthinitaswong said Mccluskey put on shorts before being loaded into the back of the police pickup truck.

He said: 'Officers inspected the room and a number of items were taken away as evidence. The foreigner had vandalised his room while deploying a fire extinguisher.

'He was very agitated. He looked like he was drunk or under the influence of drugs and was taken to the station for tests. He was handcuffed as he was not cooperative with the police at the hotel.'

Officers held Kailund in a cell while they waited for him to become coherent.

The cop added: 'He will have to pay for the damage he caused. There was money confiscated from his room. CCTV has also been checked to use in the case against him.'

Thailand's current military government has made efforts to clean up Pattaya after it was dubbed the 'sex capital' of the world and a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah due to its ubiquitous prostitution.

However, the entrenched sex industry and endemic corruption have proved difficult to tame in the once-sleepy coastal city, now a magnet for undesirables.

A large number of British ex-pats have also set up bars in the city, making it an attractive place for pensioners to retire.

While the recent legalization of the psychosis-inducing drug Cannabis appears to have added to the chaos - with an Italian tourist arrested in May following a cannabis binge that climaxed with him throwing a fridge from his balcony.
