This green snake is called the green mamba (Dendroaspis viridis). It is common in the rainforests of Africa.
The green mamba is mainly active during the day, but under favourable conditions it can also hunt at night. Its natural prey is birds, lizards and small mammals. The venom contains fast-acting neurotoxins that can cause tissue necrosis and paralysis. An antidote must be administered quickly to a snakebite victim, otherwise the chances of death are high.
Location: The city of Bata, Equatorial Guinea, Africa.
