In viral videos, one woman named Monica confronts the thieves, warning tourists and reporting the incidents to the police. These videos have gained significant attention on platforms like Facebook and TikTok, raising awareness about the issue.

Despite their efforts, pickpocketing remains a persistent problem in Venice, which attracts millions of tourists annually. Monica calls for stricter laws and harsher penalties to deter criminals and protect visitors.

In one clip, she is seen taking on two female pickpockets dressed as tourists as they mingle with crowds apparently targeting women's backpacks and handbags.

A second clip shows two different girls trying to mix with a crowd of holidaymakers on a boat before Monica calls them out.

As they reach the top of the gangplank she calls out at the top of her voice repeatedly: "Attention! Pickpockets." When the crooks realise they have been rumbled they try to cover their faces and run off the tourist boat.

A third clip shows how close Monica comes to being attacked when she tackles three burly-looking male pickpockets as they board a ferry packed with visitors. As she shouts her warning, the crooks abandon the ship and walk off quickly in different directions.
