Dozens of Palestinian residences were destroyed by the latest fighting to hit Gaza, before a ceasefire on May 13 ended the repeated rounds of Israeli strikes and volleys of rocket fire launched by Palestinian militants, which killed 33 people in Gaza, including militants, civilians and children, and two civilians in Israel.
Muslims are celebrating Eid al-Adha (the feast of sacrifice), the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide marking the end of the annual pilgrimage or Hajj to the Saudi holy city of Mecca.
