A policeman came to the rescue of a stray dog whose head was stuck inside a hole of a car in northern India's Punjab.

This incident happened in Amritsar at around 6 am IST on June 26.

Visuals from the incident showed the amazing work done by the policeman as he helped free the dog from the hole and potentially save its life. Named Palwinder Singh, he is the sub-inspector of the Mokhampura police station in Amritsar. Singh initially pulled the dog in order to free it but that was to no avail. He then used a handkerchief to hold the dog's neck which was left bloodied potentially because of its struggle in freeing itself. Despite his initial attempts turning futile, he didn't give up and tried to slowly pull the animal's head out of the hole.

After a while of making an effort, he was able to see some success as the dog was freed. The canine then walked away from the area.
