The Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB) staged a demonstration at University College London (UCL) to protest the redundancy of staff members as well as the reduction of contractual hours for other workers.

It has been reported that 40 security officers will soon be dismissed.

Demonstrators have accused UCL of being "racist", claiming that those affected by the recent decisions are "predominantly black and brown".

IWGB (Independent Workers Union) staged a demonstration at University College London (UCL) in protest against the firing and rehiring of 256 “predominantly black and brown” security workers. The protesters call the actions “racist”, and state that the pay will be even lower for security personnel under the new plan.
