STORYLINE:

It's a busy scene at the construction site of the Judiciary Square project in Dodoma, capital of Tanzania.

The project is being built by China Railway Jianchang Engineering Company (CRJE) (East Africa) Limited, a member of China Railway Group Limited.

It's one of landmark structures undertaken by Chinese companies that many Tanzanians say are changing the landscape of the capital, creating job opportunities and transferring technology to the youth.

"Tanzanian workers and Chinese experts exchange skills and knowledge in the construction aspects, and also we are getting knowledge on the use of machines and other working equipment, and also we are building a good relationship between Tanzanians and Chinese."

"Chinese enterprises have made great contributions in helping the development of Dodoma, the capital of Tanzania, especially in the city construction, namely the construction of government office buildings, municipal roads, agricultural irrigation and educational resources in the urban areas, etc."
   
Among a list of projects being constructed by CRJE is the Dodoma Science and Technology College. Covering 19,000 square meters, it includes an administrative building, a teaching building and practical training workshops. Once completed, it will serve about 1,500 students. 32-year-old Kyara works as a quantity surveyor at the site.

"It's a dream that came true working with one of the giants in construction industry. Not only it has limited situation, but we are getting affiliated in the professionalism. That means advancement of technology from China to Tanzania, (which) is a growth for Tanzanians who are working here."
