Peter Tatchell and other Pride in London marchers hold sit-down protest against draconian Ugandan anti-LGBT+ law
Veteran gay and human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell, marching in the Pride in London parade with activists, held a sit-down protest outside the Ugandan High Commission, against the government's draconian new anti-gay law which introduces the death penalty for certain homosexual acts (July 1).
The African nation which already criminalises homosexuality, can now punish same-sex relations with life imprisonment, under the new law Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023, approved by president Yoweri Museveni.
Peter Tatchell called for Uganda to be sanctioned and the group stayed sitting whilst speeches were made, before moving off to finish marching.
