Fatal M25 crash Two dogs die and Woman airlifted to hospital with life-changing injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision on the M25 near Rickmansworth.

The incident occurred at around 2pm on Sunday (2 July), on the anti-clockwise carriageway between junction 16 and 17 heading towards Heathrow.

A white HGV lorry and a silver Volkswagen Passat Sport were in collision.

The driver of the Volkswagen, a woman in her 60s, was airlifted to hospital with life-changing injuries.

Two of the four dogs in the Volkswagen also died in the collision. The remaining two dogs were taken to the vets for treatment.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage to come forward.

At 2pm a Serious Crash between a lorry and a car at J17 A412 Denham Way (Maple Cross) has caused tailbacks to Junction 19 at Watford as the air ambulance attends.

Drivers are leaving the M25 at Junction 20 (Kings Langley) and heading onto Langleybury lane and Saratt lanes are busy as drivers bypass the congestion.

On the other side, there are queues 11-mile queues back to just before J14 (Heathrow).

Emergency services ask drivers to please avoid the area at this time.
