A safari-goer in South Africa's famed Kruger National Park caught this impressive supermoon rising over the savanna.

"While on safari in the African bush we decided to stop and watch one of the four supermoons of the year rising over the horizon," the filmer told Newsflare."

"It was a spectacular moment to see the larger than normal moon rising over the bushveld of Africa, accompanied by the early evening wilderness sounds that included the slow and ominous whooping sound of a hyena calling in the distance.

"Unlike many places on our planet, light pollution in this part of the world does not exist and once the moon was high enough, it lit up the whole landscape like one big spotlight. An incredible African safari experience not to be forgotten!"
