A determined deer bit a tourist's shirt and followed him around for snacks in Japan.

Footage shows the Sika deer approaching a man with two others as he handed them treats in Nara on May 11.

But after all the creatures were given a bite each, one of them wanted some more and followed the holidaymaker before tugging on his white shirt.

The deer continued to train along the tourist, who was getting nervous as the creatures got too close for comfort.

The tourist's friend Diane Jeanette Viado said: ‘It became an unforgettable memory for us who went on the trip. It was hilarious.'

Sika deers in Nara are considered sacred as they are believed to be messengers of God according to local folklore.
