The Cross Bay Walk
Join Kings guide to the Kent Estuary Michael Wilson on the historic bay walk across Morecambe Bay from Arnside to Grange. The Morecambe Bay sands are renowned for their quick sands and fast flowing tides. Crossing the sands has always been dangerous.
Although the walk dates back to the era of Henry VIII and the original route was from Hest bank to Kents bank, due to the soft sand at Hest Bank therefore the route is now Arnside to Grange.
The walk from Arnside is a lovely walk with a varied terrain and is between 5.5 to 7.5 miles depending on the safest route.
