This footage was filmed and produced 2 July 2023.

Festa Junina, or the June Festival, is a Catholic tradition that was introduced to Brazil during the country’s colonisation by Portugal (from 1500 to 1822).

Its events are based on the European Midsummer holidays, which are dedicated to the harvest and saints, mainly St. Anthony, St. John the Baptist and St. Peter. Despite its religious origin, the main emphasis in Festa Junina is on creating a large public gathering with dancing, drinking and food, especially in large cities.

This footage shows a huge crowd of people who gathered at the concert to celebrate of Festa Junina in Barueri, Sao Paulo, Brazil on the 2nd of July.
