A heroic teenager waded through dirty, overflowing sewage water to save a trapped kitten.

Cat lover Nong Big heard the feline crying and searched for it around his home in Bangkok, Thailand on June 2.

He eventually found the creature between the walls of two houses where the space was flooded with foul-smelling sludge.

But the teenager paid no mind to the smell and walked along the swamp after trying plastic bags around his feet to retrieve the animal in distress.

Footage shows the good Samaritan slowly walking on dirty water to take the animal. He came out of the space with a tiny ginger kitten.

The youngster's neighbour Satita Tawaphan said: ‘He already has four cats at home. He likes the stray cats so much. He has a heart of gold.'

Nong Big took home the kitten and adopted it to live with his family and other pets.
