This is the moment passengers were drenched when a passing bus drove through high floods, splashing them with dirty water.

The commuters were in a jeepney passenger truck plying AS Fortuna Street in Mandaue City, Cebu province in the Philippines when a large white bus drove by on the adjacent lane on July 5.

The speeding bus splashed water through the jeep's open windows as it passed, drenching the travelers who screamed when they were hit by mud and rainwater.

Passenger Jose Elmer Igot, a call centre employee coming home from his office, said: 'Most of us in the jeep laughed, but one girl in front of me was furious. She said she still had work and her outfit was ruined.'

The Philippines and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are approaching their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
