Waiters and customers were injured when a Korean barbecue restaurant exploded showering people in broken glass.

Footage shows the chaotic aftermath of the blast that injured 15 people in Oriental Mindoro, the Philippines on June 29 morning.

Injured kitchen staff knelt by the parking lot covered in wounds, blood, and soot, with their shirt ripped from the impact.

Shoppers who were also hurt were given first aid at a tent, including a pregnant woman.

Onlooker Majed Ali said: ‘It was scary. It was unbelievable.'

At least 15 people - four kitchen crew, a delivery rider, and ten customers - were hurt while parked cars and windows were left with shattered glasses.

All those who were injured were taken to hospitals in ambulances.

Meanwhile, Police Regional Office chief Brigadier General Joel Doria said they had launched an investigation into the explosion.

He said: ‘We understand the concerns and anxieties of the community, and we want to emphasise that the situation is being given the highest priority. We urge the public to remain calm and cooperative with the authorities.'
