SOUTH AFRICAN TRADE UNION MARCHES AGAINST JOB LOSSES & PRIVATISATION

The Congress of South African Trade Unions ( COSATU) marched accross South Africa against job losses , privatisation, crime and unemployment.

South Africa has an unemployment rate of 32,9 percent and the effects of this is felt predominantly by the working class.

In Cape Town COSATU and its affiliates marched from District Six to the provincial legislature to hand over a memorandum. The Union accuses the Democratic Alliance run provincial government of being pro - privatisation and creating a gap between the rich and the poor.

The Chairperson of Cosatu in the Western Cape Motlatsi Tsubane spoke to the media before the march.
