Customs officials seize gold paste concealed in undergarment at airport in southern India

Officials of the customs department seized gold paste weighing 331 grams (0.73 lbs) worth Rs 20 lakh (USD 24,234.76) from a man who had concealed it inside underwear in southern India's Telangana.

This happened at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad on July 5.

Visuals showed one of the officials tearing open the underwear to reveal the gold paste concealed inside the inner fabric. According to a report, the man was travelling from Sharjah. He was caught when stopped for a check at the airport.
