Chinese workers cling on to roof canopy as it's blown away in strong winds
A restaurant owner catapulted by powerful winds plummeted onto a rooftop in central China.
Video filmed in Yichang City, Hubei Province on June 11, shows several individuals attempting to cling onto the pillars supporting a canopy, but suddenly both the people and the structure were swept up by the powerful gusts.
One person holding onto the roof was slow to release their grip and ended up falling from a height, landing on a nearby rooftop.
On the morning of June 12, according to a staff member, it was revealed that the individual who was blown onto the roof was none other than the restaurant owner. Suffering from fractured ribs, the owner is currently receiving treatment in the hospital, and as a result, the restaurant has temporarily suspended its operations.
Fortunately, no other injuries were reported at the scene. Further information regarding the incident will only be confirmed once the owner is discharged from the hospital.
According to reports, strong winds and rain had caused the roof of the restaurant to be overturned.
