Sticky ball battle at family birthday bash: 'Everyone against Karla!' gets 5 million likes on TikTok
A typical family gathering on July 1 in Uva, Puebla, Mexico turned into a sticky affair as a playful game with Bumchems, or particularly sticky toy balls, ensnared Karla Ramírez's long hair in a troublesome twist. "My cousins got Bumchems stuck to my sister’s hair and it did not end too well…" a family member narrated. As Karla lamented, "I can't, I have Bumchems all over my hair," the family rallied around her, offering both sympathy and solutions.
"We were trying to take them off along with my two aunts," shared another family member. "...Finding ways to get them all removed..." became the unexpected mission of the day. Each minute brought more family members to the scene and an array of hair products were introduced, including baby oil to soften the hair.
"The balls collected to see which method works best to remove these... Gathering a collection of Bumchems," the family collectively agreed. As the battle waged on, light started to dim, prompting the family to find a better-lit spot to continue their quest.
"We started to count the balls... And even more aunties came to help, it was already getting late... It was getting less and less... By then there were 89 Bumchems collected," the recounting continued, painting a picture of a team united in a humorous, yet painstaking endeavor.
Following two hours of collective effort, "the very last Bumchem" was finally removed amidst a grand countdown. "Finally, her suffering ended when we were able to remove 130 Bumchems," a triumphant family member declared, marking the end of a memorable family anecdote.
