A dangerous wooden footbridge sparked concern among locals as it was being used for both pedestrians and motorcycles.

The structure - composed of steps on the side and a ramp in the middle - is used to cross the Khlong Phasi Charoen canal behind the Wat Lak Sam temple in Bangkok, Thailand.

Footage shows motorcyclists driving over the bridge while residents - including small schoolchildren - walked next to the vehicles.

Local Member of Parliament Rukchanok Srinork visited the footbridge last month and found that it was 'old and in a state of disrepair'.

The old wooden planks had begun to bend, with cracks appearing on the bridge's posts. Several nails fastening the boards were also found sticking out.

The Nong Khaem District Office conducted repairs on the damaged areas following a request from Rukchanok. However, the politician remained concerned as the bridge became slippery during the rainy season.

Rukchanok said she will consult with residents on whether to replace the bridge entirely.
