Dizzying POV footage shows harvester plucking and dropping durian fruit from tall tree
Dizzying POV footage shows a harvester plucking durian fruit from a vertigo-inducing height while a teen girl below caught the fruit with impressive accuracy.
The expert pair amazed locals with their precision as they gathered the notorious stinky fruit from a 50ft tall tree in Chumphon, Thailand, on June 19.
One of the pair scaled the tree and cut loose the durian before dropping it like prickly bombs to Sutthipat Suren, who waited below with a sack to catch the produce.
The young woman wowed onlookers by catching the barbed fruit without missing a beat, unfazed by the potential injuries their spines can cause.
Sutthipat, the girl on the ground who is seen catching the durians, said: 'I have to watch them carefully as the drop from the tree. They're so heavy and spiky, if they hit my hand or my head it will hurt.
'Also, they are very valuable so if they land on the hard ground they will be damaged and the farm will lose money. I use a sack to cushion the fall smoothly.'
