An American livestreamer is facing up to five years in jail for giving his girlfriend a suggestive lap dance while dressed in suspenders and broadcasting his performance over the internet.

Paul Denino, better known by his online name 'Ice Poseidon', 28, had rented a room at the Banyan Tree Hotel in Bangkok with his girlfriend Kimberlee and fellow streamers Hyubsama and Deepak Lal for a private party on June 28.

As he streamed the gathering to thousands of viewers on the Twitch platform, he donned revealing women's lingerie and proceeded to gyrate on top of Kimberlee. He also made derogatory remarks about Thai ladyboys.

Minutes later, the furious female hotel manager, accompanied by several security guards, walked inside the room and ordered the streamers to go to the police station with her because they were being 'disrespectful to Thai culture'.

She was heard saying: 'I'm the general manager here, what are you doing now? This is all the policemen. I would like all of you to go to the police station now, it's disrespectful to Thai culture. I saw the photo and we have CCTV. I will make the police report.

'What are you doing, if you don't respect Thai culture and Thai women? You cannot do this in Thailand. This is very serious, and my manager is a woman also.

'I'm having a meeting with a customer... and what are you doing? Can you stop recording. I don't care about your money. Money is nothing if you don't respect culture.'

As the group apologised, and said they were 'just trying to have fun', the manager instructed the guards to call the police. She then blocked them from leaving and demanded their passports.

They were reportedly charged with the distribution of obscene content and had to pay bail amounting to around 12,000 USD. However, police told them that they cannot leave Thailand until the court case is settled - which is scheduled between August to January of next year.

On June 30, Ice Poseidon posted a video alongside fellow streamer Deepak Lal apologising for the party.

He said: 'I'm being held in Thailand for the actions that I've done a few nights ago at a hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. I wanted to make this video to apologise to the manager of the aggrieved hotel and the Banyan Tree Hotel Bangkok for the actions I have done. I did not know the severity of the actions that I've caused.

'I was just trying to have fun, and I am sorry. We were drunk, we were in a room. I just didn't understand the severity of what I'd done, lap dancing on my girlfriend. And I am sorry for that. I did not want to cause any negative actions towards anyone. I didn't want to make the hotel look bad or anything, so I apologise. I hope for the speedy release of all of us.'

Upon learning he could be jailed for five years, he said: 'If I get five years, I'm just going to kill myself. I will not be able to survive in a Thai jail.'

The maximum prison term for breaking Thailand's computer crime act - the most severe law used against anyone broadcasting obscene material - is up to five years in prison along with a fine up to 100,000 Baht.

Ice Poseidon became popular for his gaming and 'in real life' streams in which he vlogs about his everyday life.

He has faced multiple controversies, including allegations of racism, crypto scamming, doxxing, and violating filming laws in different countries.
