A clingy little girl cleaned and played while snuggling with her favourite pet chicken.

Footage shows the cute toddler Aletheia carrying the white bird while sweeping the streets with a broom in Calabarzon region, the Philippines on June 10.

Aletheia had been friends with the creature since it was a chick and named it Cocomelon.

Now, the pair are inseparable, and the youngster does her day-to-day activities with Cocomelon beside her.

Mum Jomavil Cipres said: ‘I am happy that my child has found a loving best friend. She always looks for the chicken when she wakes up in the morning.'

Jomavil added they originally intended to raise the chicken for farming, but Aletheia became friends with Cocomelon.

She said: ‘We now keep Cocomelon as a house pet. My daughter loves the bird so much.'
