Watch moment landslide sweeps away trees in northern India after heavy rain
In northern India's Himachal Pradesh state, incessant rainfall and subsequent flooding have resulted in several landslides.
Hardest hit are the Mandi and Kullu districts. A landslide occurred in the Thunag Tehsil area of Mandi, as seen in this eyewitness video captured by a local on Sunday, July 9 and shared with permission. The footage shows the impact, revealing tree branches swept away down narrow lanes due to the landslide.
The filmer stated that local authorities had previously issued warnings about potential landslides in the area. He attributed the landslide, in part, to a lake that had formed atop the hill due to heavy rainfall.
"I also faced the loss of goods in my shop due to this landslide," the filmer told Newsflare.
