Tourists leap from the second floor of a building in a bid to escape a devastating blaze at a scenic spot in southwest China.

Video filmed in Leijiang County in Guizhou Province on July 10 shows a blaze ripping through a local guesthouse, driving two people to leap from the second floor in a desperate bid for survival.

According to Miss Ye, a tourist at the scene, the fire began in a local inn marked with the signage, "Ah Nong Restaurant." The building, a timber-framed construction featuring a street-facing storefront, quickly succumbed to the rapidly spreading flames.

"An explosion, possibly caused by gas, was the first sign of trouble. I heard a sudden blast, followed by the sight of windows shattering, then the smoke," Miss Ye recalled. "Shortly after, there were several more explosions. The people trapped in the inn had no choice but to jump from the third floor. Thankfully, they were caught by those below. The fire spread swiftly, consuming the entire building in no time."

Local fire services have praised the quick-thinking actions of bystanders and the speed of the response from fire rescue services, thanks in part to the inn's location near a road intersection. The fire was entirely extinguished by approximately 10:20 AM, with two timber houses having been razed to the ground.

Two local villagers were dead and six people were injured. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

叶女士称：“起火原因可能是煤气爆炸，我就听到突然爆了一声，然后看到窗户掉下来，再就有烟雾，之后听到接二连三的爆炸。起火后有客栈里的人从三楼跳出，好在被下面的人接住了。火势发展也很快，不一会儿就把房屋全部吞噬了。”
据当地消防部门透露，由于起火点位于路口，消防救援车很快到达，截至10时20分左右 ，火情已完全扑灭，农户木屋过火2栋，没有发现人员伤亡，目前起火原因正在调查中。
