To celebrate Moscow Transport Day, 14 trams from various eras hit the streets on Saturday, bringing citizens a journey to the past.
Moscow city officials said that the parade of retro vehicles in the capital has been a tradition.
The parade attracted huge crowds, and many citizens made a special trip to take pictures on the trams in retro costumes.
There were also performances simulating the lifestyles of Moscow in the 1930s.
The history of Moscow trams can be traced back to 1899.
As a new form of urban passenger transportation after the horse-drawn carriage then, the development of the tram also encountered considerable resistance because horses and coachmen faced unemployment after the tram was opened.
More than 100 years later, trams are still an important part of urban transportation in Moscow and one of the symbols of the city's history and culture.
