An amputee British Army veteran made a James Bond-style entrance to his wedding - by skydiving into the venue in a record-breaking stunt.

Chris Parkes, 34, and his nine groomsmen wore tuxedos as they dropped from the sky before he tied the knot with Pippa-Rosy, 31.

The former British army soldier parachuted into the grounds of Langley Castle near Hexham in Northumberland on Sunday (9/7).

He and nine other groomsmen touched down at 8am donning black James Bond-style tuxedos.

They then slipped into kilts before Chris and Pippa-Rosy, from County Durham, got married in the castle’s woodland wedding area in front of 200 guests.

Pippa-Rosy, who is also a keen skydiver, said: "I get the big fancy dress and he gets the fancy skydive"."

Chris, who lost a leg serving in Afghanistan, believes the jump may have set a record for the most groomsmen and groom to skydive into a wedding.

Langley Castle’s wedding and events manager, Katie Livingstone-Evans Lowes, said they were "truly thrilled and amazed" to have the skydive take place at the venue."

She said: "This is that the castle has never witnessed before in its 673-year history and in its 37 as a wedding venue."

Chris and Pippa-Rosy will spend their honeymoon wild camping in the Scottish Highlands.
