A loose wheel was seen rolling across a motorway before hitting an oncoming car.

Dashcam footage shows the motorbike tire emerging from the side and striking the sedan in Phetchabun province, Thailand, on June 17.

The impact threw away the wheel while the driver stopped abruptly.

Driver Jeerasak Phasuklum said the object was detached from a motorcycle in the far left lane.

He said: ‘It cracked my license plate frame. I hope everyone should learn to be careful on the road.'

Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.

However, a lack of road safety education in schools along with notoriously easy driving tests, police failures to enforce road laws, and chronic under-investment in infrastructure, all appear to hamper the efforts.
