A gripping eyewitness video has emerged, providing a firsthand account of the hostage situation that unfolded at Caesars Palace Hotel on Tuesday (July 11). The footage, captured by Justin Toledo from the nearby Octavius tower, reveals the dramatic events as they unfolded.

In the video, Toledo pans across the pool area, where chaos ensues. Security personnel and police officers can be seen swiftly moving patrons away from the pool as shattered glass from a burst window litters the scene. The assailant, identified as the suspect, can be observed continuously hurling hotel items out of the broken window. It is believed that he was holding someone hostage within the room.

According to authorities, they received a report of a possible situation at about 9:15 a.m. to the south side of the resort. When they went to the room, a male inside said he was armed and refused to come out.

Bureau Commander Stephen Connell said no shots had been fired as of 11:50 a.m. as SWAT and crisis negotiators responded to the scene. A woman is believed to have been pulled into the room by the suspect.

The eyewitness account aligns with the actions witnessed by authorities, who promptly dispatched the SWAT team in response to the unfolding crisis.

Toledo's video provides a unique perspective, capturing the urgency of the situation as law enforcement swiftly responds to secure the safety of those involved. The footage offers a glimpse into the intense moments before the arrival of the SWAT team.
