Police have arrested two Germans and are searching for a Pakistani man over the gruesome death of a gangland-linked businessman found dismembered in a fridge in Thailand.

Cops began hunting the three suspects following the murder of shady German ex-pat Hans Peter Walter Mack, 62, whose body was found chopped up inside a freezer in Pattaya on Monday night. The self-proclaimed entrepreneur had previously been arrested for alleged child sex trafficking.

Officers identified the suspects as alleged motorbike gang member Olaf Thorsten Brinkmann, 52, and German female property agent Petra Christl Grundgreif, 54, along with a Pakistani man named Zahrouk Kareem Uddin, 27, who is still on the run.

Footage shows obese Petra arriving at the police station followed by the arrest of long-haired biker Olaf, who was caught at a squalid bar in the On Nut district of the capital Bangkok.

Police Colonel Tawee Kutthalaeng, the superintendent of the Nong Prue Police Station, said cops requested arrest warrants for the three individuals on suspicion of murder and theft. They were detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit robbery and intentionally killing another person.

He said: 'Grundgreif underwent an extensive interrogation by the police lasting more than five hours before being taken for fingerprinting.

'During the process, she remained calm and even expressed her dissatisfaction with reporters who were filming her, alongside her lawyer.

'She will be detained and interrogated again along with the other suspects. We will check if their accounts match each other.'

Detectives also summoned suspect Olaf's Thai wife Jarunee, 37, who worked as a waitress at a restaurant just a mile away from the crime scene.

They also grilled German woman Nicole Frevel, 52, who is disabled and had rented the house where the body was discovered. Frevel claime she was not involved in the case and was coerced into allowing them to store the body in the rented house. However, she was later charged with 'concealing a body'.

Police said they also interrogated the caretaker of a boxing stadium in Chonburi that the victim was interested in buying. However, he said he was not aware of any details relevant to the case.

Based on surveillance footage and investigations, authorities said they have put together a timeline of events leading up to the grisly murder.

They said that Hans had met with Petra at a coffee shop for business on July 4, after which the pair proceeded to a pool villa where cops believe Hans was killed.

On July 5, Petra was seen driving a Chevrolet car, accompanied by a black Mazda pick-up as they drove towards the pool villa once again. The truck had been carrying the freezer that would conceal Hans's remains.

On July 6, Petra took her Chevrolet to a garage along Sukhumvit Road to have the tires changed. Thai garage owner Adisorn and his wife, who were delivering the new motor, said Petra had attempted to hire them to transport the freezer to the house where the businessman's corpse would later be found, but they refused.

On July 7, Petra, Olaf, a disabled woman, and a foreign teenage man were seen meeting up at a restaurant before parting ways.

On July 8, Olaf was spotted on camera transporting the freezer to the said house, where Hans's body is believed to have been dismembered with a chainsaw.

Police said that two Thai women had been hired to drive Hans's Mercedes-Benz sedan and abandon it at the carpark of the CC Condominium in Pattaya. The car was discovered on Sunday, July 9, but its interior had been wiped with cleaner, seemingly to tamper with evidence.

Investigators believe there was extortion involved, as Hans was found to have wired two million THB (57,372 USD) from his bank account before his death.

Hans had been living with his glamorous and much younger Thai wife Piraya Boonmak, 24, for five years in Pattaya. He had two sons from his previous wife.

He was reported missing on July 5 when he failed to come home. His Mercedes-Benz coupe was found several days later, but its interior had been wiped with cleaning solvent 'to destroy evidence'.

Police are yet to comment on the German's background and the deals he was involved with.

In February 2018, Hans was arrested in Pattaya along with a Thai woman Amornrat Kateuy on charges of allegedly prostituting girls under the age of 18.

The ex-pat was allegedly put under surveillance by police and seen with Amornrat taking a 17-year-old girl to a house.

Officers raided the home where they allegedly found the German sitting with the teenager while a shirtless foreigner emerged from a bedroom where the 15-year-old was wrapped only in a towel.

The girl told police that the foreigner had paid for sexual services from her and that Amornrat and Hans had taken her there to perform the service.

Police investigated Hans and Amornrat for human trafficking and procuring a sex service provided by an underage girl. The alleged foreign pedophile was charged with sexual activities with a minor.

It is not known how Hans avoided further police action and what came of the case.
