Villagers rescued an elderly woman and her granddaughter from a mobility car that was trapped in a ditch in northern China.

Video filmed in the city of Chaoyang in Liaoning Province on July 8 shows a group of villagers securing a mobility car with a rope and then pulling it back to the safety of the shoreline together.

According to reports, the elderly woman drove her mobility car to pick up her granddaughter from kindergarten.

However, a sudden and torrential downpour swept the area, causing the mobility car to malfunction and come to a sudden halt. The unrelenting floodwaters whisked the pair, along with their vehicle, into a nearby water-filled ditch.

Fortunately, the elderly woman and her granddaughter were unharmed.
