Love was in the air when Karel Borges surprised his soul mate, Maria Soares, with a beautiful wedding proposal, which she will fondly look back on for years to come.

"My then-boyfriend and I were headed to a chalet in the city of Três Marias when he told me that we would take some pictures to keep as a souvenir of the trip," the bride-to-be told WooGlobe. "When we arrived at the place, Karel blindfolded me and said he had prepared a surprise.

"Turned out that my family, my parents, grandmother, brothers, and my fiancé's parents and grandmother had already decorated the whole chalet and the deck."

As soon as Maria took the blindfold off and heard her brother playing a familiar song while she was standing with the love of her life, she immediately knew what was next.

"Karel asked me to marry him; it was the most special moment of our lives," she added.
