Three-wheeler rider narrowly avoids road explosion due to heatwave in China
A three-wheeler rider narrowly escaped an unexpected explosion that cracked a cement roadway, resulting from the sweltering heat in northern China.
The CCTV footage filmed in the city of Baoding in Hebei Province on July 8 shows a section of a road suddenly cracked when a three-wheeler was approaching the area.
Fortunately, the three-wheeler rider stopped in time, avoiding any injuries.
From July 5, Hebei's Meteorological Observatory repeatedly issued red warnings for extreme heat.
On the morning of July 8, the warnings continued as daytime temperatures in Baoding, Langfang and regions further south were forecasted to reach a blistering 37 to 39 degrees Celsius.
Local temperatures in Xingtai and Handan were even predicted to soar above 40 degrees Celsius.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
