A baby python slithered along the windscreen of a moving car as a frantic driver rushed to remove it.

Footage shows how the tiny 4ft-long snake emerged on the wipers of the sedan in Samut Songkhram province, Thailand on June 24.

It was in front of the passenger side when the driver pulled over and climbed down to give it a nudge. After being pushed away with bare hands, the serpent then leapt onto the roadside and disappeared among the bushes.

Car passenger Ratthaphong said: ‘The snake might have come from the park we visited earlier that day. It looked like a young python but big enough to hurt a cat. It's scary but I hope it's fine.'

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
