Tourist luckily escapes serious injuries after mountain ladder fall
A tourist luckily escaped serious injuries after she accidentally slipped while climbing a ladder at Huashan Scenic Area in northern China.
The terrifying moment was filmed in Weinan City in Shaanxi Province on July 12.
The tourist clung onto the left iron lock with both hands before losing her footing and plummeting straight down. However, a voice off-camera can be heard reassuringly saying, "The person is fine."
According to the person who recorded the incident, the falling tourist was caught by several men behind her. Fortunately, the woman escaped any serious harm.
In response to this incident, a staff member from Huashan Scenic Area confirmed the authenticity of the event. They reassured that the woman involved was unharmed as she was caught after the fall. While the video may give the impression of a great height, in reality, the drop was only one to two meters.
The staff member acknowledged that the scenic area's ladders do not have safety measures in place and have remained so since the opening of the area. Visitors who perceive a risk in using the ladders are encouraged to choose alternative routes within the scenic area.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
