A carbon dioxide transmission pipeline was put into use in east China's Shandong Province on July 11 by the China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group).
The 109 km pipeline can transport 1.7 million tonnes of carbon dioxide captured by Sinopec Qilu Petrochemical Company to the underground reservoir of Shengli Oilfield for oil displacement and storage every year.
The transported carbon dioxide can improve oil recovery, realizing the geological storage of carbon dioxide at the same time.
