A tiger and her cubs were spotted in a wildlife sanctuary area, making their first appearance after several months.

The Thailand Tiger Project DNP at Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary captured footage of the tiger Apinya and her cubs in June.

On June 3 and 4, the cubs and Apinya were observed in Pongsakorn's territory. The size of the cubs was becoming more similar to their mother.

According to the post, Apinya, the tiger in question, was involved in a complex relationship with two male tigers named Pongsakorn and Siri.

This situation has raised questions about the paternity of her two cubs, necessitating DNA testing to determine which male tiger fathered the offspring.

In the last week of March last year, the location data from Apinya's collar indicated that she was giving birth.

Subsequent confirmation revealed that she had indeed given birth to two tiger cubs.

Following the disconnection of her collar, Apinya's location went undetectable, prompting the staff to rely on surveillance cameras to monitor her movements.

A mother tiger was spotted walking with her cubs months after giving birth in a wildlife sanctuary in Thailand.

The female big cat named Apinya was seen prowling with her offspring at the Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary in Uthai Thani province, in surveillance videos shared by Thailand Tiger Project DNP on July 6.

Footage taken in June shows Apinya walking with her babies, which were already nearing her size. They were roaming in male tiger Pongsakorn's territory, Thailand Tiger Project DNP said.

Researchers said that the father of the cubs is still unclear as Apinya had a 'complex relationship' with two male tigers, Pongsakorn and Siri. They said a DNA test was needed to confirm their paternity.

Apinya is believed to have given birth March last year, based on data from her collar. However, the tracking device fell off soon after, and researchers had to observe her via security cameras.

They said Apinya had lost weight, likely due to nursing her cubs. The baby tigers only appeared on cameras playing with their mum when they were around five months old, they said.

Thailand Tiger Project DNP said the cubs seemed to be growing well. Meanwhile, Apinya was last seen visiting male tiger Siri's territory on her own.
