A kind couple rescued a magpie bird stuck in a net in their garden.

Wattanapon Suwannow and his girlfriend noticed something twitching on the ground beside their backyard aviary in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 12.

Upon a closer look, they found out it was a black and white feathered creature that was caught on the mesh that covered the enclosure.

Footage shows the terrified bird trying to fly away without success. The good Samaritans brought out scissors and carefully untangled the animal from the object.

Wattanapon said: ‘That bird always comes here to eat the grains that have fallen out of our cage. Maybe it stepped on the net and could not pull its legs until we found it.'

The bird was scared so the couple wrapped it first in a face towel first before they cut parts of the net.

After almost five minutes of rescue operation, they freed the bird from the object and released it to fly away in their yard.
