A police officer saved two children trapped in a submerged minibus amidst deep floodwater in northern China.

Video filmed in the city of Xi’an in Shaanxi Province on July 12 shows a police officer named Yu Quan rescuing two children trapped in a flooded minibus and carrying them to safety one after another.

According to Yu, he received reports of intense flooding along the heavily affected Qinhan Avenue when he was on duty. Without hesitation, he raced to the scene to assess the situation.

As the rain poured down relentlessly, the water levels rose rapidly, turning the road into a perilous waterway. It was during this time that Yu heard desperate cries for help coming from a stranded minibus in the middle of the road. Determined to aid those in distress, he hurried to investigate and discovered two young children, a girl around the age of ten and a boy who appeared to be five or six years old trapped inside.

The children were standing on the rear seats of the vehicle, showing great maturity as the girl urged Yu to save her younger brother first.

With the water level steadily increasing and time running out, Yu swiftly carried the boy to safety on the roadside before returning promptly to rescue the little girl.

In the midst of the rescue operation, it was later revealed that the car initially had the parents on board. When the vehicle first got stuck in the rising water, the parents attempted to seek assistance in freeing the van. Little did they know that the floodwaters would surge with such alarming speed, quickly submerging the van roof and placing their lives in immediate danger.

Thanks to Yu, the children were saved successfully.

经过了解，视频中的民警是西安交警支队港浐大队交通管理科副科长余泉。
余泉说，视频中的一幕发生在7月12日晚8时许，他是当晚的值班干部，大雨来临后他立即赶到积水比较严重的秦汉大道执勤。随着雨越下越大，路上的积水深度也上升的很快。当时他听到路中间有一辆面包车里有呼救声，就赶紧过去查看发现，车里边有一男一女两个孩子，女孩十岁左右，男孩五六岁的样子，两个孩子就站在面包车的后座上，女孩很懂事让他先把弟弟带走。当时水越来越深，情况比较紧急，他就赶紧背着弟弟到路边，然后立即返回把姐姐也背了出来。
事后，余泉经过了解得知，车上原本有家长开车，当时面包车陷入水中还不太深，家长就想找人帮忙把车推出来，可没想到积水上升的太快，很快就即将没过车顶。
余泉表示，背姐弟俩出来的时候并没有考虑太多，就想着车里有人赶紧救人，这是一名人民警察应该做的。当时也有在路边的群众准备涉水过来帮忙，考虑到当时积水已经很深了，不清楚底下的情况，就告诉群众不要下水了。
