The city of Padang, Indonesia, has been hit by devastating floods and landslides caused by heavy downpours. Water started overflowing on the evening of July 13, reaching between 50 to 100 cm.

This video shows residents and children walking through waist-deep water as well as submerged vehicles. The footage also features images of houses completely covered in mud.

The head of the southern Padang police department, AKP Nanang, said:

"The landslide in the Padang city area hit the graves, dozens of residents' houses were damaged, several mosques were damaged, and two residents were declared dead".

"Currently there are floods in dozens of villages with a total number of affected residents of nearly thousands of families,".

the high water submerged the residents' housing, the regional disaster management agency team together with the Police, TNI and Sar, evacuated residents trapped in the flood. Apart from flooding, the high-intensity rain also triggered dozens of landslides on the hills of the Padang city area.
