This is the stomach churning moment a Jet2 passenger filmed their plane rocking violently from side to side on approach to Birmingham BHX Airport on Saturday July 15.

The Lanzarote to Birmingham flight (Flight number LS1202) was heavily rocked from side-to-side as the pilot struggled to keep control.

Crosswinds of over 40mph hit the plane which dipped violently sideways towards the ground, very close to the runway, as an easyJet flight could be seen beneath, out of the window on the tarmac with just feet to go until touchdown.

Once the plane landed, passengers clapped although some questioned why others were applauding.

Strong winds have battered Britain's Midlands and South as heavy rain has also been reported with weather warnings issued.
