Boy with nonverbal autism playfully interacts with acrobat and warns him to be safe
This is the heartwarming moment a little boy with nonverbal autism playfully interacts with an acrobat and shows care and compassion during a cirque show at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay theme park in Florida, US.
Austin, 4, from Largo, is filmed trying to warn the acrobat with his hands about the stunt risks. Concerned about the performer’s safety, he put his hand over his head and moved it.
"He uses his hands like that to tell someone to stop because he’s been in speech therapy since he was one", Ginny, Austin's mum, told Newsflare. "His therapist uses her hands like that when she wants something to stay and even says 'stay' when she doesn’t want something to move. He will imitate that with her at every session".
The clip also shows the cute moment the child cheers the acrobat and says "Yay" and "Tada" when he realises that the performer is safe.
"He was beyond happy to see he made it down safely. He was like this for the entire 30 mins of the show", said Ginny. "I never thought he would be this excited to be there. We have passes to Busch Gardens, so he has seen that show before, but he has never once been so into the show like he was that day".
Seeing Austin actively interacting with the stunt was incredibly emotional for Ginny.
"It almost made me cry happy tears to know that he is starting to learn how to communicate with others! I was so happy to see how interactive he was and how concerned he was for the man. It shows how caring he is for others and it warmed my heart so much", she said.
Ginny told Newsflare that several other audience members came to her after the show to say they had a hard time watching the performance because he was so cute and just as entertaining as the acrobat.
