A pretty Thai chef honours her mother by cooking a 40-year-old family noodle recipe.

Preece Tuk said she grew up eating her mum's special noodles and papaya salad with her siblings as they owned a small food shop when they were young.

While the family business had to close down years ago, Preece worked hard to build a restaurant of her own and revived the recipe.

Footage shows the hands-on cook working in the kitchen and serving bowls of noodles to her customers in Pattaya, eastern Thailand. The restaurant owner also cleans up tables and mans the cashier.

Preece said: ‘I have a special connection with noodles and papaya salad because that's what I grew up with when I was a child. But my mum had to close the shop because she had three kids to look after. Whatever was earned wasn't enough to take care of us.

‘Now that I have money, I opened these restaurants to fulfil my mother's dream. And so I named this restaurant after my mother, Mae Tuk Noodles.'

Preece said the special ‘boat noodle' recipe - which is a Thai-style noodle with strong pork liver and pickled bean curd flavour - is already 40-years-old.

She added: ‘I mix all the noodle ingredients such as meatballs, pork, beef, liver, and intestine. For all the animal internal organs, braced pork, and even the tendon, I put them all in one dish and serve my customers.'

Despite serving special food, Preece said she still receives unsolicited comments on how she dresses.

She said: ‘Some people might be confused with my style, they ask themselves, why is the seller so showy? Why is she not well-dressed? Those thoughts never came across my mind.

‘What I wear is part of how I make my life more fun and vibrant. I never look at what I wear as revealing. To this day, I dress like this because I am confident.'

She said she hopes these people focus on the food more than her looks - specifically her surgically enhanced breasts.

She said: ‘When I'm confident, I do everything else in life better. For example, when I do my makeup well or when I look sexy. When I make noodles, I feel confident. Customers walk up to me and tell me I dress so pretty and I thank them.'

Mae Tuk Noodles is open every day from 9am to 6pm. Preece makes the noodle while her mother and sister help by serving as waitresses.
